Vetomo uses independent research to frame product problems carefully. Population, setting, numerator, denominator, and limitations remain visible below.

Results come from specific veterinary studies and may not represent every clinic, case, or type of care. These independent studies motivate clearer aftercare workflows; they are not Vetomo outcome claims and do not establish that Vetomo would reproduce, prevent, or change the reported results.

Dutch pet owners generally trust their veterinary clinics. Vetomo is designed to help clinics extend that trusted care into the period when recovery happens at home.

Why it matters
Discharge instructions can be understood differently by the care team and the owner, even in a specialist setting.
Population
Owners of dogs and cats hospitalised for neurological disease; 151 completed the discharge questionnaire and 70 completed both questionnaires.
Setting
A university veterinary neurological referral centre in Germany.
Limitations
A single neurological and neurosurgical referral service; follow-up responses were incomplete, so this is not a rate for all veterinary consultations.

Passive reporting alone can miss postoperative information that becomes visible through structured outreach.

Dogs and cats undergoing soft-tissue or orthopaedic surgery during a 12-month period.
Setting
A veterinary referral hospital in the United Kingdom.
Limitations
A prospective cohort at one referral hospital; only 309 questionnaires were returned, and this finding does not show that surveillance prevented an infection.
